STRESS IS NOT
A LAUGHING MATTER
destress, control stress, manage stress, stress management techniques, what is stress, when is too much stress
Managing Stress in our daily lives is becoming an increasing concern to many people. Seen, by many, as the new 'backache', too many work days are lost each year for Stress to be ignored. The Cheshire Bioresonance can help not only to recognise stress, alleviate the symptoms but also to deliver long term help.
We hear a great deal about stress at work which does and will spill over into our daily lives but what of stress at home. Balancing a budget, keeping up with children and managing a home is for all of us a difficult balancing act.
Some stress is a good thing, it brings a certain adrenalin rush which puts a sparkle on things. The thrill of a new relationship, the challenge of a new job, new house, buying a car. that buzz we feel is stress but it has an end, a completion, we will find ourselves in a new house or driving a car.
Research has shown that too little stress can mean we perform badly, under some 'stress' exam results for example have been found to be better than if there is no 'pressure' to perform.
However it is stress in the long term which has adverse effect. it can damage our health, work performance and relationships. Stress can lead to high blood pressure , obesity, stroke; stress can kill.
Stress is the fight or flight response and is actually in our genes. It stems from primitive man and his reaction to his daily life when we were hunter gatherers and were subject to attack by wild beasts at any time. The rush of adrenalin helped primitive man to fight or run. There are many stories of people jumping much higher than normal or running faster than usual when being chased by a savage dog. Peoples stories of courage in adversity or when a rescue is required.
Our reaction to stress still evokes this reaction and produces a rush of adrenalin to help evade or fight the enemy. That is fine if there is an enemy to fight but all too often is is another unwelcome bill dropping on the doormat or a phone call from the credit card company. This means there is no outlet, no fight or flight. The net result is that the adrenalin produced is not used and simply builds up in the system.
Other hormones, neoadrenalin and cortisol are also left in the system. These hormones only exist in small amounts in the body, unless pumped up for a reason, and consequently this imbalance causes physical and mental changes and problems. Indio vcations include:
- headaches
- sweaty palms
- nervous stomach/butterflies
- lack of appetite
- binge eating
- lack of sleep or broken sleep patterns
- unable to think
- shortness of temper
If not addressed these can result in quite serious problems:
- High blood pressure
- severe weight change
- anxiety
- panic attacks
- stroke or heart attack
It is unlikely that stress alone will cause these problems but linked with smoking too much, overeating or too much alcohol health will suffer. It is always best to address the problem before it becomes too serious.
There are many ways to manage stress but at Cheshire Bioresonance believe in balancing the system, releasing the adrenalin and returning system to normal. Bioresonance will look at these issues allowing you to take a balanced an distress free look at your life style, examine what is causing the stress and change.
Nowadays demanding or new situations can still evoke this prehistoric reaction. But today it might be a telephone call with an urgent request or an important meeting with the boss which provokes the stress response. Why do our bodies react in this way?
